Mr. Postman delivers the good stuff
On Monday I ordered some things from
Vegan Essentials: two bags of non-dairy white chocolate chips, three ricemilk chocolate bars, and a dark chocolate bar with dried cherries and vanilla bean. The UPS man just dropped the package off about 15 minutes ago, and I've already sampled the ricemilk chocolate. I couldn't help it - I mean, it's been like three months since I've eaten milk chocolate. I miss it, I'll admit. I like dark chocolate well enough, but I've always like milk better. And white best of all, actually. Unfortunately those two are always chock full o' dairy, so on a day to day basis they're out of the picture. But you can find absolutely anything online, vegan white and milk chocolate included. After my dad slipped me some cash on Monday I finally broke down and paid the annoying shipping charge, and now I have these delicious treats in my possession. And I have to say, so far I'm pretty pleased with my purchases.
The ricemilk chocolate isn't quite the same as regular milk chocolate - it's not quite as sweet, and it isn't soft like Hershey bars. But it's still damn good, and it certainly satisfies a milk chocolate jones. Delish. I'm going to try to ration it out, along with the white chocolate chips, because the longer it lasts, the longer I can wait before ordering another batch. Also, I'd like to avoid gaining another 15 pounds, so rationing is looking like the only way to go. Especially with easter coming up. Urgh.
You know, I thought that going vegan would sort of naturally lead to some weight loss. And it did at first, but that's since been cancelled out by my love of cooking and baking. No mere lack of animal products can keep me from whipping up delicious food, desserts in particular. I'm making dozens and dozens of peanut butter eggs this weekend in preparation for easter; do you realize how hard it is to have 75 peanut butter eggs in your fridge and NOT eat any? I do need to abstain with these, though, because otherwise my family will be peanut butter egg-less. And that would be sad.
Anyway, I need to run some errands before Adam gets here. Read: I need to restock my period supplies and I'd like to do it sans-boyfriend. Because that's just a little awkward.
