Buffy DVD goodness and other things
I just finished watching the first disc (four episodes) of the Buffy season 3 DVDs. Ah, how wonderful it is. *bliss* I got it four days early, too - it's not supposed to come out until the 7th. Adam has officially been elevated to the status of God for getting this for me. I will give him many cookies and possibly a kitten. Only not, because he doesn't have anywhere to put a kitten. Sad. They're like Prozac with four legs and a tail; everyone should have a kitten. Especially someone who is excellent enough to get me the third season of Buffy on DVD. *more bliss*
I plan to watch a few more episodes tonight, but I thought I'd take a bit to write an entry before I lose myself in Buffy goodness (again).
Today has, overall, been pretty damn good. I woke up to find that my Barnes & Noble order arrived, so now I've got two new books to read and two new (very nice) CDs to listen to. Weeee! Adam came over to bring me my DVDs, and we ended up hanging out for most of the evening. We went to Wendy's for fries and Frosties (mmm), replaced the dome light in his car, went to the Salvation Army (where I got three fun shirts and a My Little Pony thermos), wasted some time at the mall (he got The Two Towers videogame), and then saw The Wild Thornberrys Movie, which I personally loved. I think the show is great, because hey, it's animated and it's all about the animals. And as we all know, I am all about the animals. It was really cute and happy and fun. And the theater wasn't crowded, which is always a big plus with me.
I think I start too many sentences with "and." Hrm. Oh well. I've never paid a whole lot of attention to grammar rules in my writing, especially when it's not for a grade. I just write how I speak/think, and since I'm not a simpering moron it usually turns out well. Because here's the thing: I speak English. It is my native tongue, and there's just no excuse for not having a firm grasp of the language you've spoken since birth. That's just sad.
I actually can't think of anything bad that's happened today. Weird. But how wrong is it that I find that weird? I don't know. Bad things shouldn't be the norm. Bad things should be something to become alarmed or surprised about; good things should be commonplace. This is how it should work. Unfortunately, "should" doesn't cut it around here. Bleh. But at least today was completely good. It didn't snow as much as it was supposed to, thus eliminating the possibility of sledding (which Adam and I had planned to do), but I can forgive that. Because hey, it kept driving from being hazardous and unpleasant. Maybe tomorrow the snow will have hardened into an icy crust kinda thing, enabling sleds to glide across the surface with the greatest of ease. It's only 30 degrees out; it could happen.
This CD is really good. Yay.
Amanda, are you home yet? Call me. I need to give you your mix CD. Maybe we can get the gang together at least once before we all have to pack up and go back to school.
Okay, well, I can only have the set of Buffy DVDs sitting next to me for so long before I have to watch them. It's a thing I have. If I pull myself away from them at all tomorrow, I'll write.
