"In my world there are people in chains...
... and we can ride them like ponies."
Heh, Vampire Willow. So evil, and yet so very cute.
Gah, it's been a long day. I got about five hours of sleep last night, which would explain the extreme fatigue that's been plaguing me all day. Though it wouldn't explain the fact that said extreme fatigue has been hanging around since I came home for break. Funny how I only get really tired when I'm getting lots of sleep. Except that, you know, it's not.
Anyway - a long day, but a pretty good one. Adam and I drove up to LVC to see what books we'll need for Spring semester, which was not really any fun at all. I only have seven books, two of which I already have; Adam, on the other hand, has a frightening thirteen books for five classes. Eck. His philosophy class accounts for six of those, though, and he's thinking about dropping it. I'm totally behind that, because a) I'm notorious for my philosophy-hate, and b) he wasn't crazy about the last philosophy class he took. And if he's not happy, I'm not happy, so if dropping a stupid philosophy class would lighten his course load and make the semester more enjoyable, I'm all for it.
I'm actually thinking about dropping French, because I don't see the point of taking it. I am not coming back next semester. I want to go to art school, and they are, as far as I can tell, not terribly strict about language requirements. If I don't go to art school and, through the vengeful actions of a cruel and pestilent god, I end up at another liberal arts college, I want to major in Asian Studies. And what, I ask you, would be the point of having two semesters of idiot-level French under my belt if I would be required by my major to become proficient in at least one asian language? Riddle me this.
After investigating the book situation, we had lunch at Mama's Pizza. Mmm, broccoli roll. Then it was back to Harrisburg for some random hanging out, taking his car to be worked on, and then off to The Middlesex Diner for some group time. Meaning, of course, that Amanda, Pat, Adam, Bryan, Charity, and myself sat in a desolate corner of the diner, ate artery-clogging fried food, and made way too much noise. It was chock full o' laughter and good times, as is the norm when we all get together. Everyone went their separate ways around midnight, with me driving Adam home and then coming back here to watch a single episode of Buffy before going to sleep. Which I did, minus the sleep part. I'll get to that soon enough, yo.
Oh. I forgot the most important thing that I did today - watched the new, eagerly-anticipated (by my, at least) episode of Buffy. Adam and I watched it together, actually, which is always fun. It was... okay. Kind of slow and exposition-filled, but I'll take whatever I can get. If taken by the standards of the earlier seasons, though, it was sub-par. Buffy has, admittedly, gone downhill where quality is concerned. This is especially noticeable after watching "Doppelgangland" tonight - after watching anything from seasons 1 through 3 (and, to some degree, 4), actually. This show used to be so much fun. The characters used to genuinely care about each other, and there were solid plots and witty dialogue and cool fight scenes and actual people living in Sunnydale who were affected by the Big Evil. I mean, I still love Buffy with all of my heart, and it still gives me a great big happy, but it's kind of sad to realize how great it used to be and then see how far the quality has dropped in comparison. Alas. Hopefully the current season will get moving soon; at the very least, I'd like them to PLEASE kill off the extremely annoying Slayers in Training. Kennedy could possibly stay, as long as she doesn't try to get in Willow's pants, but otherwise they just seriously need to go.
Well then, enough about Buffy. Amanda's eyes will probably become permanently lodged in the back of her head due to the copious amount of eye-rolling that she's sure to do while reading this. Sorry, hon. Only not. I just can't apologize for obsessing over Buffy to someone who watches Sorority Life, The Real World, and god only knows what else. Mindless TV, anyone?
Okay, it's bedtime for me. Happy dreams and such.
