pre-concert blather
So, um... they cloned a cat. Why, exactly? What's to be gained by producing even more domestic cats and dogs? There are enough strays on the streets and in animal shelters to populate a small country. I'm puzzled as to why someone feels the need to further that problem.
Anyway. As soon as my hair dries and I figure out whether I want to wear my goth-hooch boots or not, I'm off to pick up Joe. They boost me up about four inches, but they make driving and traversing stairs of any sort rather difficult. Hmm. We're going to get waffles for lunch before we go, because waffles rock and once we leave I don't anticipate stopping before we reach Philly. We're leaving at 2:30-ish, because there's bound to be some traffic. There are car shows in Carlisle this weekend (I think), and the Farm Show is going on in Harrisburg, and there's also some sporting event somewhere. *laughs* That last one was really specific, wasn't it? I forget what sport it is and where it's happening, but happening, it is. So we figure that 5 1/2 hours is plenty of time to get there.
Our phone will not stop ringing. It's like frickin' Grand Central Station. Well, no, it's more like a very popular phone-sex establishment. My grandma just called to ask if I want to take her grocery shopping next Wednesday; I said yes, because it's not a hassle or anything, and she usually takes pity on my poverty and slips me ten bucks.
Oh, speaking of being given money, my mom rocks. She woke me up at 7:30 a.m. (which hurt more than you can imagine) and gave me fifty bucks. I didn't ask for any money, but I wasn't about to turn it down. So now I've got plenty for gas and a small souvenir (perhaps a t-shirt, unless they're $30 a piece like at most concerts), and maybe a book or a cd or something when I get back. Nice. I finally finished downloading the whole Si Se cd, and I am in love. It's great. I'm going to burn a copy for Adam before I go see him on Sunday, because he shouldn't be deprived of this wonderfulness.
Is wonderfulness a word? Somehow I don't think so.
