Our Lady of Perpetual Distraction
I just had the best lunch ever. Broccoli, pineapple, and Light Life Chick'n Strips with "Hawaiian Style" sweet and sour sauce. All cooked, of course. It was fabulous. I wish I'd made more. I may make it again for dinner tonight. But then I won't have any chick'n strips left... so maybe not tonight. But sometime very soon, because it was seriously delicious. And filling. And only 3 points (for those of us following Weight Watchers)!
Mmm. I love hot pineapple. I like it better than cold pineapple, and that's saying something. Because I really just love pineapple all around.
So I'm listening to Arabian Travels, which is a really great CD for two activities: writing and sex. It makes me want to do the latter, but is also very conducive to the former because of the lack of overtly noticeable (and therefore distracting) vocals. Another CD that I have is like that as well, although there are stronger vocals so it's not quite as good as background music. Still makes me want to have sex, though. It's all Middle Eastern/Indian/East Asian music that does it, too. It's all just very sexy.
Erm, anyway. So I'm working on another story, one that's been languishing on my hard drive since late November of last year. I'm hoping I can finish it up in time to hand it in tomorrow night, since we're reaching the mid-point of the semester and one more story would meet my baseline-C requirements. The typing of this story is being made somewhat more difficult by none other than Rufus, who is curled up against the leg of my chair in such a manner that I cannot move it without squishing his furry butt. So I'm sort of schooched over to the right, and I have to sit half-on, half-off the chair to reach the keyboard properly. It's uncomfortable. If bastard cat didn't look so cute and cozy, I'd move him onto the bed or something - but he's even being nice when I pet him, so I can't bring myself to disturb him. Alas.
Okay, it is not 3:23 - almost two hours to the minute. I am the Queen of Distraction. At least it was somewhat productive distraction, though - I stopped writing this to work on my story. Which is what I'm going to go do some more right now. Adieu.
