unprotected foot exposure - call the CDC!
I was skeptical about this CD. Tori's "greatest hits," as it were. Because as much as I love Tori, greatest hits albums are often lame, especially when you already own all of the artist's albums. I still wanted it, because it's Tori and it has two new b-sides on it, but since I tend to be lacking, monetarily speaking, it had to wait. Well, last night I procured it in, er, an alternate way, and I've been listening to it ever since. It's actually quite good. Some nice new mixes of old songs, and the two b-sides - I am officially in love with "Snow Cherries from France." It's just gorgeous. I'll buy the actual CD when I'm not so obnoxiously rolling in poor, fo' certain.
One thing, though, about song choices. There are six songs from Little Earthquakes. That means that HALF of Little Earthquakes is on this CD. Boys for Pele, meanwhile, was sorely neglected. Mr. Zebra, Way Down, and one of the single re-mixes of Professional Widow? Please, Tori. Where is Putting the Damage On? Where is Hey Jupiter? Where is Doughnut Song? I am admittedly a little biased, as Pele is up there as one of my very favorite Tori albums (and was the first album of hers that I heard/purchased so many years ago), but the songs featured from it are just... not worthy of being included, if you ask me. I love Mr. Zebra - it was the first Tori song I ever heard. But it's nowhere near the best song on Pele.
Ahem. I'm a huge geek. Please continue.
I had some stuff to say, but I can't remember what any of it was now. Except that I wanted to talk about how Snotty Biologist took off her shoes and put her bare feet up on an extra desk during class tonight.
Dude. I had to look at her feet. HER BARE FEET. They were not the prettiest feet in the world, and even if they were, I DO NOT LIKE FEET. They're gross. And hers kind of smelled. And I found the whole thing very offensive to my delicate sensibilities. It's like this woman WANTS me to hate her and is doing everything in her power to make it so. GAH.
FEET.
That's all I can say about that.
