setback on the cat hat
There has been none but negative progress on the kitty hat. It's very discouraging. I'm definitely doing something wrong on the purl stitches, and if I had to guess I'd say it's how I'm holding the yarn. But obviously I don't know exactly what's wrong, because otherwise I'd fix it and be on my merry knitting way. Instead, I just trashed what was supposed to be five rows of seed stitch. It was not seed stitch. It was some horrible, knotted, caterpillar-looking atrocity masquerading as seed stitch. I do not know what to do.
Does anyone who reads this knit? Because I could really use some advice.
In other news, I still feel like shit run over by a lawn mower. My wastebasket is entirely filled with used tissues. This state of shittiness wasn't improved by the fact that when I woke up, Goth Boy was here. Apparently he spent the night. Again. If I had been able to rise from my bed, I probably would have clawed his eyes out and made them into earrings. Unfortunately I was not able to act on my impulses, as I was disoriented due to oxygen deprivation. Breathing has become troublesome, what with the clogged nose and "hey, let's pour salt onto a third-degree burn and then rub it with sandpaper" feeling throat. Perhaps another time.
I'm going to go look through the 1980's Vogue knitting book that Adam and I checked out of the library on Tuesday. Maybe it can tell me why my hard-earned seed stitch looks more like twisted, charred pipe cleaners.
Ciao.
