they want my attention span dead
Okay, I'm entirely too sleepy to write a whole big entry at the moment, but I wanted to pop in and say hello. And make known the results of The Great Class Registration of 2004.
Western Art (8:15-9:45 MW)
Graphic Technology (9-4, T)
2-D Design (10-5, W)
Photography (10-5, F)
So I'll be taking 12 credits, which is fine with me. The Dean, with whom I met to schedule all this, said that I'll probably stay at 12 credits every semester, since all of my liberal arts requirements are already filled. The whole thing was very odd, in that I didn't go in and look over classes and pick them out on my own. It was more like I went in and watched while the Dean scheduled them for me. I guess the schedule is much more regimented and sequential there than I'm used to. Either way, that's what I got.
And you're not misreading those times, either. Western Art is indeed a normal twice-a-week, 90-minute class... but the others? Oh, the others. They're a beast of another color entirely. I have not one, not two, but THREE 7-hour classes. SEVEN HOURS. I think you get an hour break in there for lunch, because the Dead referred to them as 6-hour classes, but the times quite clearly indicate a 7-hour span of time.
Christ. Talk about school being a job. And I complain about my 3 and 4-hour classes... ugh. I'm hoping these are more interesting, in any case. I'm a little miffed about Photo, because really, as much as I enjoy photography, I don't need to learn how to load film again. I don't need detailed demonstrations of how to enlarge photos or diagrams of where the f-stop and shutter speed and light meter, etc, etc, etc are on a manual camera. But since all of my photo experience was in high school, none of it actually counts. The Dean told me to talk to the professor about moving ahead a little bit instead of mindlessly droning through the beginner stuff. Because it's definitely a beginner class, which... yeah. No. I'm excited to have access to a darkroom again. I love me some time spent in the darkroom.
Anyway, Sleep, she is calling my name. But first there will be the brushing of the teeth, and the washing of the face. Because I cannot stand feeling dirty. UGH. Hygiene is my bestest friend.
P.S. Everyone should listen to this CD. Fo serious.
