don't burn me at the stake, Mommy!
Okay, my mom is really starting to freak me out. She's into this whole Jehovah's Witness thing, which is freaky enough in its own right... but she's also got this "bible study" group consisting of her, scary neighbor Pat, an old black lady, and this stern, black-haired woman (the leader, it seems) who looks like the bastard child of Cruella De Vil and Snow White's evil queen. They're downstairs talking about satan this and the devil that, and all the things that are evil and can allow satan/the devil to plant ideas in your head. A few of the things named during the Evil Things diatribe would make me evil, which I find both disturbing and vaguely amusing. Magick, sorcery, consulting oracles. Read: pagan leanings, have done magick in the past, read tarot cards on a regular basis, have dabbled in runes and other forms of divination. If my mom weren't smack in the middle of that den of religious madness, I wouldn't care. I think it's actually very funny when people think I'm evil, because usually that means they're stupid. But dude... it's my MOM. I don't want my mom to think I'm evil.
There are oh so many reasons I'm not religious in the christian sense; cult-like dogma and brainwashing rank pretty high up there. Especially when they're being directed at MY MOTHER.
GAH.
