ode to a stale Krispy Kreme
*yawns* So tired, but I thought I'd write before I go to sleep. Dinner was all right, barring the whole "vegetarian in a steakhouse" thing. I got a side of steamed vegetables and a side of garlic mashed potatoes - the veggies were great, but the potatoes were sub-par. Applebee's has brainwashed me with their impossibly delicious mashed potatoes. Alas. It was scary crowded and dark and Mason was being belligerent and obnoxious, as per usual, but hey... that's an evening out with my family for you. This is why I skip these things whenever possible.
The CD player in my car is heaven. I came thisclose to buying another CD this afternoon to commemorate the joyous occasion of being able to listen to music while driving without endangering the lives of innocent pedestrians due to the distraction of rewinding (whew!), but I resisted. I can get them for less at Circuit City (I was at - ugh - Barnes & Noble's), and besides, I really shouldn't be buying anything else just yet. I'll just run out as soon as I get paid on Friday and buy a few, because I'm still going through this phase where I can't believe I actually have money to spend. I can buy things. Do you realize how long it's been since I could do that? Way too long. So it's going to take a few weeks for me to get this "frantic, excited spending" thing out of my system; then some money will start to stay in the bank, where it belongs. Not too much, though - I'm not that fiscally responsible. Heh.
Adam and I went to the grocery store tonight. Yes, that's all we did. Well, basically. There was some horseplay in the bedroom, too, but that's beside the point because it wasn't the particular brand of horseplay that qualifies as a mentionable event. Anyway. I don't know why we go to the grocery store all the time. It's kind of weird, but hey, whatever gets your rocks off, right? (Please note that I do not find the majority of groceries sexually arousing; it's merely another way of saying "whatever you like" or "different strokes for different folks." Choose your own aphorism.) So yeah, we went to the grocery store and I bought yogurt and pudding and fat-free Pringles and fat-free Doritos. YES! I finally found them! Actually, Adam found them. I think he was starting to question my sanity because we couldn't find them anywhere - like I'd really make up a snack food. But now he knows I'm not delusional and I have my coveted Doritos, so it worked out well for all involved.
And then I came home. I'm going to his house early tomorrow morning, to lay around for a while before I go to work. Always a fun time, that is. *eyelids drooping* I must give in to the tempting call of my bed. Goodnight.
