more rollicking feline adventures
Just a minute ago, Buddy went downstairs to investigate a noise. I heard it, too - it was a clicky, scratchy kind of noise. I thought it was just one of the cats scratching at the carpet or something, but after he went down it didn't go away, which it would have if it had been a cat scratching at the carpet. They usually stop doing whatever it is that they're doing when he comes into the room, so that they may better arrange themselves into a tight little ball of pissed kitty and stare at him with venom-filled kitty eyes until he walks away with his tail between his legs. But the noise persisted, so I went down to see what it was. The dog was standing in the middle room, the room with the kitty litter and stuff, staring at the window. Just staring.
"So," you ask, "what was he staring at? What was so very fascinating that the dog couldn't pull his very easily distracted eyes away?"
Well. Gizmo was clawing her way up the window screen. From the outside. She was literally hanging from the screen by her claws, looking absolutely terrified. The door to the balcony in Mason's room was open, which I guess is how she got out. I went out and dislodged her and carried her inside, all the while wondering why she would go out in the first place. Of all four cats, she's shown the least interest in taking a little sojourn into the great outdoors of the backyard. Rufus, the would-be escape artist, was downstairs in the kitchen, seemingly unaware that he missed a golden opportunity to run free without someone immediately grabbing him and tossing him back inside. Not that I've ever actually tossed him, but you know what I mean. Gizmo is a skittish cat who is very likely afflicted with some kind of feline anxiety disorder - she hasn't even wanted to go outside. Maybe Giles dared her to or something.
In any case - weird.
Adam called about an hour ago, to tell me how his first day of work is going. Turns out that it's assembly-line work, which sort of sucks but isn't very hard. And it pays well, so that's a plus. He said it's going alright, but that he might keep on looking for a different job while he works there. Because it's always useful to HAVE another job before you quit your old one. He going to come over tonight for a little Buffy Season Four party at Joe's, which should be a fun time. It'll be me, Adam, Joe, Joe, Amber, six discs of Buffy, and (hopefully) lots of pizza. Mmm, pizza. I would count the ways in which I adore thee, but then this entry would be miles long. And that's generally unacceptable when it contains nothing but reasons that I love pizza.
Anyway, back to the Buff. I have nothing else to do today except possibly make a fun little crafty thing, which probably won't get done because I don't have an empty altoids tin. I don't even like altoids, but their tins are ever-so useful.
Cheers.
