next I'll be flaying people for fun
I'm having a little vein issue. Well technically I guess it would be a hand issue, or a wrist issue... but for me, it's all about the veins. And the pain, of course, but at least you can't SEE that shit. Anyway. My wrist started hurting something fierce this afternoon, and upon closer inspection I noticed this rather prominent vein on the palm of the same hand, on the edge of the fleshy thumb mound. Looking at it now, all of the veins on that wrist are more noticeable, too. Eesh. But this particular one is really freaking me out, because it's kind of big. And in a weird ass place. And I can FEEL IT. I pushed on it a few times - an oddly painful sensation, that. I'm not loving it at all and I'd really like it to go away now, please. I should sit my ass in the pom-pom chair, plug in my borrowed heating pad, and watch a movie. But I don't much feel like it, so there will be no heating pad. And the vein, it seems, will not be going away anytime this evening.
GAH. I don't want to be veiny. Why am I veiny? What did I do to deserve weird bulgy veins, huh? UNFAIR. A curse and pox on veins, lest they stay concealed beneath the skin where they belong. Bulgy bastards.
Yesterday Adam and I took a trip down to Baltimore to visit Meghan and Olivia. It was great fun, and exactly what we both needed. It gets so boring and stagnant around here; it's nice to get away from everything for a little while, surround yourself with new and interesting things. It was a total food disaster for me, with the eating out and the cookies and the ice cream... but what the hell. You've got to live a little every once in a while, right? I'm a little diet angel 98% of the time; I can make exceptions for, well, exceptional circumstances. I enjoyed myself very much, anyway. Olivia is the cutest baby ever, seriously, and Meg is way more fun than any of my siblings. Color me jealous, indeed.
So that was a good time. And Adam got my The Postal Service's CD while we were at Sound Garden, so now I actually have a legal copy of that fabulous album. Yay!
Today I just hauled my grandma around and then hung out with Adam until early evening. As of this moment, he's at band practice and I'm working on stuff for a new diary layout. It's coming along fairly well, but I'm having a tough time working out the little details. And I haven't even started coding it yet, so I wouldn't hold your breath for anything new and exciting. It'll probably be another week or so. But it should be fairly simple to do, and if it all works out properly then it'll be uber-fun, visually.
Ow. Ow ow ow ow ow. My stupid wrist won't stop hurting. No more typing. Must rest veiny, deformed appendage, stat.
You understand.
