happiness is a new Rufus album
There was a fly with two heads in my room just now. It was huge, as one might assume upon hearing of a fly with two heads. Of course, it's possible that it was two flies mating, but I don't think so. It just looked like one big fucking fly to me. Bleh.
I have to do my Drawing homework for tomorrow. I do not, as usual, want to. I hate conte crayons and I would be positively giddy if the entire medium were sucked into hell and forced to burn and suffer for all eternity. So, you know, if someone could arrange that I'd be really appreciative. My real problem is this perpetual procrastination, though. Well, hating school with a fiery passion is a big part of the problem as well, but there's not a fat lot I can do about that at the moment. So I put things off. And then I have to stay up late to get them done, which sucks quite a lot. Also, I have an enormous headache that extends down into the back of my neck, and I have to give a small oral presentation tomorrow. Things are unpleasant.
But. You will notice, if you take a look at the "current" area over to your right, that I am listening to Rufus' new CD as I write this. Adam went against my fairly firmly expressed wishes and bought it for me; I appreciate it, and I'm happy to have it, but damn if it doesn't just add to my stockpile of inadequate and guilty feelings. But I have it, and it's wonderful. Very different from the others, and yet in a way it's similar to both. The voice remains the same, of course, so I'm happy either way. Rufus' voice is definitely on my top 10 list of things that make life worth living. And GOOD GOD, I just found out something that makes my day x 47. This CD was supposed to me a 2-CD set, but was cut in half. The second disc, Want Two is due out in the spring. Weee! You can never have enough New Rufus. You can never have enough Old Rufus, either... basically, the more Rufus, the better.
On that note... I'm off to get a snack and then it's time to toil over a mediocre drawing assignment for a class that leaves the artist in me feeling dull and hollow. Le sigh.
