fatigue does nothing for my witty banter
So my Anthro professor is out of town tomorrow, and Monday and Tuesday are Fall Break - this is a 5-day weekend for me. How delicious.
My short story was workshopped during Creative Writing tonight. It wasn't quite as terrible as I was expecting, but it did sort of make me want to puke and hide and never write anything ever again. But Prof. Wallace said repeatedly that he thinks I'm a natural at writing short stories, so there's something. Flattering? Yes. True? Not particularly. If I was a "natural," the five short stories that I have started in the last few weeks wouldn't be sitting lonely and unfinished in my Creative Writing folder. No, if I were a "natural," they would be done. Which they are not. It's very sad.
Hrm. I'm not entirely sure why I started this entry - I have nothing of note to say. As usual. I don't know what I'll be doing this weekend, but I would place money on one or more of the following taking place: sleeping 'til noon, knitting, watching Buffy. Possibly baking. You know. There is homework to be done, but when have I ever let pesky school obligations get in the way of my valuable slacking time? Pish!
Oh, and a bit of news - I have a job interview on Monday at Joann Fabrics. It would be seasonal employment only, but I'm totally fine with that. It'd give me money for christmas and other presents, and if I'm going to be working retail then it's all about the discount, which I would actually use at Joann's. So hopefully that will happen; I put three applications in elsewhere, but I've either not heard back or been shut down when I called to inquire about the status of said application. Borders Rejection #437, take one. Action!
Anyway, I'm tired. I'm going to go putz around on something for a while and then get to bed. G'night and things.
