Snow is merely Winter's underling
It snowed this morning. Big, fluffy flakes blowing around like feathers and piling up under the roof shingles. It's all gone now, of course, melted away and forgotten, but damn. Snow? Already? Yes, I do realize that it's December 2nd, but I'm not ready for snow. Not yet. Not ever, really, unless it's like the stuff today and just floats around looking pretty for a while and then disappears. That snow I can deal with. But I know that these flurries are merely harbingers of something much greater, much more horrible: Winter. It's here. Dear god, I need more scarves.
I didn't go to class today. Nor did I go to the poetry reading that I really, really should have attended. I woke up feeling worse than I have in all the days since this sick thing set in, so I just threw in the towel immediately and went back to sleep. My throat was so dry and sore that I could hardly swallow, nay, breathe. Very unpleasant. I don't feel bad about not going to 3D, as I haven't missed it at all this semester, but now I'm pretty much shit out of luck with the LAP credit (attending a Language Arts Performance) for Creative Writing. Boo.
Rufus is curled up on the window sill - it's very cute. He's a little big for it, though. I had to clean the damn thing off for him, because paltry things like clutter can't stop The Roof from claiming a spot as his own. And since he doesn't have opposable thumbs or the desire to clean the spot himself, well, you'll just have to get off your lazy human butt and do it for him. Because he is King Rufus, ruler of the entire universe. And he has everyone wrapped around his fluffy little paw.
Blah. I think I'm going to go lie down for a while, possibly watch some TV, and wait for Adam to call. Ciao, kids.
