the 6 1/2 hour entry
So... back in the dorms. Woo. Moving back in was possibly the largest pain in the ass ever. I think the muscles in my arms liquefied and spent the entire time sloshing around instead of being useful, because things were quite heavy and bothersome to carry that shouldn't have been. Grr. But now it's done, pretty much, and I'm sitting in my insanely cold little room and downloading episodes from season 7 (current) of Buffy, listening to music, and writing in my online diary. Wow, what a big change from what I was doing at home! Except not.
*2 and a half hours pass*
Hello again, my poor neglected little entry. I'm sorry that I abandoned you, but more important things came up. Adam and I went to Mama's for dinner, and then to the college center bookstore to procure some textbooks. I only bought two, as the list of classes that I will definitely be taking is only that long. English Communications II and Global Popular Music - neither of the books looks terribly boring or painful, which is a plus. But these two books alone cost me $75, which is definitely NOT fun at all. Alas. I'm reconsidering American Folklore, because the books look duller than I could probably handle. I had my hopes up for an interesting class, what with the folklore and all. Folklore = mythology, sort of, so it sparked my interest. But I should have known, since it's American Folklore, and America is too young and culturally undefined to have much mythology going on. Blah.
Nothing at all will be happening with my schedule, though, until I can meet with my advisor, who has of late been impossible to get a hold of. I emailed him almost a week ago, and he never got back to me. So I called his office when I got here this afternoon; again, no answer. Bastard. I think I'm going to have to go with Amanda on this one - while we were chatting on AIM the other day, she called him Dr. Do-Little. Heh. He's not a doctor, but hey. It still works.
Emily is back now, but she's not here. She unpacked a little and then went to Justin's. I'm fine with that, of course. I love having a roommate who isn't here that often. I'd love having no roommate at all even more, of course, but short of killing her there's not a whole lot I can do about that. Adam might sleep over tonight, which would be great. It's been ages since we got to have a sleep-over. Well, weeks, but still. A long time.
*another four hours pass*
Egads. It's 9:27 now. I think it's time to wrap this up before it extends into the wee hours of the morning.
Cheers.
