after these messages, it's back to snake pit for you brats!
So I haven't updated in forever. Or three days. Whichever. And I'm not actually much in the mood for updating now, but I need to take a quick bread from drawing so that my hand doesn't seize up and die. I wish I could say that I'm working on fun personal stuff, but alas... school junk. It's not too bad, though. The assignment (for Children's Lit) was to do a wee tiny paper on an award and then re-design the seal. I chose the Orbis Pictus award, because I liked the sound of it. Science-y. And it is, sort of. It's an award for nonfiction books. So I did my mini-paper this morning and now I'm working on the back of the seal. The front is completed and I'm fairly satisfied with it. Currently I am drawing a bee perched on a flower. The bee is probably not very anatomically correct, but my official stance concerning such things is: whatever. When someone decides to pay me for this crap, then I'll make sure my bee is the most realistically proportioned little insect the world has ever seen. Until then? Not so much with the caring.
In other news, today is Adam's birthday. We had birthday dinner at his dad's on Saturday, and I made the most awesome cake in the universe, vegan or otherwise. We stopped off at Cassie & Justin's that night to share the deliciousness, and ended up playing Karaoke Revolution into the wee hours. It was good times. Adam vocally button-mashed his way to a platinum score, I made a Michelle Branch song my stuttering bitch, and everyone involved is officially sick to death of "Complicated." We had more cake for breakfast the next day, and now it's all gone. So sad. I wanted to do something special with him today, but since his work is a crap-face he had to get up early and leave. But we had a very nice weekend, in all.
Today my mom came down to transfer the car and all of its related paperwork into my name, because the Lancaster City police hate college students and wouldn't give me a parking permit. Even though they gave me one before. WTF? Anyway, after much drama everything got sorted out and now I'm all about parking legally until 2006. Also, my insurance is way cheaper than I thought it was going to be, which is also of the good. Sometimes it's good to be a girl, and over 18, and possessed of a squeaky clean driving record despite at least a year of driving without glasses, occasional lack of depth perception, a tendency to fall asleep at the wheel, and two speeding tickets-cum-"traffic violations." I can probably also attribute that last one to my internal genitalia, and at this point I am so very not complaining.
Oh! I have hamsters. How sweet is that? Their names are Miso and Soba and they're Chinese Dwarf Hamsters. They're cute beyond description, so I'll try to get a picture up soon. It's really nice to have pets again, no matter how small. Just, you know, don't tell my landlord or anything.
And now - back to drawing bugs. Gah.
