forget walking on water, this is the REAL shit
Lo, Jesus hath descended to Earth and performed his most miraculous miracle to date (heh, miraculous miracle?) -
the cats are not fighting. There is peace in Casa de Lemon. No snarling. No hissing. No angry, rampaging felines. Nothing. Tango is asleep in her usual spot. Gizmo is grooming herself on the kitchen table, and Rufus is laying on a shelf in the living room. I am befuddled and agog. After last night's crazy, vicious romp through the house, I figured Rufus would have to spend all his nights locked up in Mason's room for fear of being mauled in his sleep by Tango the High and Mighty Dominatrix Kitty. But no! I was wrong! A delightful mistake, I say. It seems that they're all at least tolerating one another; I think Rufus is helping his cause by keeping relatively inconspicuous. He's being quiet and lovely and just sitting, observing, being cute.
So yes. I'll keep you updated, of course, but I think perhaps the cat drama has come to an end. A quick one, that cat drama. Good deal. Sometime I'll post a picture of Rufus. He's adorable. He could make even the most stolid dog person smile a warm, "I've just been nuzzled by the cutest cat ever" smile. Or something like that. Anyway.
I finally got ahold of the HR manager at Borders. It's about fucking time. I was quite tempted to be like, "Look bitch, I don't know what you get paid for, but I've been trying to talk to your ass for a week." But I did not. I held my tongue and politely inquired as to whether my application had been reviewed. She said that she was in the process of reviewing some applications as we spoke, took my name and number, and told me that she'd give me a call. Okay. That's all fine and good, as long as she actually calls me. But if I do not receive a call from someone affiliated with Borders within a few days, I am seriously going to go down there with a rusty machete and take some innocents down.
No jokes.
Continuing in that vein, Adam and I went to Borders tonight. I got the Lamb CD that I've been coveting for, oh, something like three and half years (and thus far it is fantabulous), and a vegetarian cookbook that was on the bargain table. I do so love cookbooks. One would think, looking at the rather large amount of cookbooks that I own, that I cook. However, I do not. I like to cook, I just don't, because it feels like a waste of time to cook for myself. I mean, I can eat cereal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and be happy. So I don't actually use these cookbooks. I just read them. It's great fun, you should try it sometime.
After the bookstore, we went to Hampden Park and hung around for a while. It felt surprisingly cold for a 50-or-so degree night, though, so we ended up going back to his house and (of course) playing SSX Tricky for way too many hours. Fun times. I want that game. Borders must hire me so that I can purchase SSX Tricky for PS2 and never leave the house again. Do it, Borders. Give me a job. Especially if you value your life. *evil cackle*
