at least the lack of functioning brain cells is good for a laugh
Okay... I know I've said this before, but Emily is seriously the biggest fucking moron on the planet. In the campus paper a few weeks ago, around April Fool's Day, there was an article saying that students can bring dogs with them to school next year. It was a joke. There was very visible statement that made it perfectly clear that the article was an April Fool's gag - no dogs in dorms. So now she's in here going on and on to Goth Boy about how it's so cool that she can have a dog here next year; worse still, he's not telling her that she's wrong. Obviously he missed the idiot-proof "JOKE ARTICLE" notice as well. And while I'm not at all surprised, I am being forced to marvel at the new and exciting levels of stupidity that Emily and the Gothic Wonder somehow manage to reach each day. It's really something, let me tell you. I thought I'd seen it all, but here she comes with not only an incredible delayed reaction (the article is at least three weeks old) but a lack of basic reading comprehension skills as well.
HOW THE FUCK DO THESE PEOPLE GET ACCEPTED TO COLLEGE?
My pom-pom hat is done. Yes, I conquered the pom-poms. It was messy and a pain in the ass, but oh, pom-poms were made. I decided against putting one on the top, because when I sat one up there to see how it looked... well, it was interesting. Interesting in an extremely funny-looking way. So no top pom-pom, but there are two fluffy black ones hanging from the i-cords. It's cute. I think I want to wear it tomorrow, but I'm not sure it's exactly weather-appropriate, what with the expected high being nearly 80 and all. We shall see.
I started this hat for my dad last night, after the pom-pom frustration. It's going decently, I guess. I'm not sure if the color I chose is really dad-friendly, now that I see it in action, so I may just give this one to Adam or keep it for myself and then get something less... blue... for my dad. I mean, it's a good blue, not very bright or offensive in any way, but my dad is more of a cream or tan kind of guy. Or maybe grey. In any case, Adam would look better in blue than my dad, I think. He's got the blue-eyed thing going on and stuff.
I'm on a knit gift kick, it seems. For every one thing I make for myself (Gryffindor scarf, pom-pom hat), I have to make something for someone else (Amanda's skinny scarf, dad's/Adam's hat). Next up will probably be a bag thing for my mom or Amanda and I don't know what for me. Exciting times.
I just re-downloaded the trial version of Adobe Illustrator 10, because the version I have is lacking the one tool I ever used. Blah.
I'm going to go play with it now, because I've missed it. Oh, how I've missed it. Sweet, sweet Illustrator. I told you we'd meet again someday, darling.
Ahem. Please excuse me. I'll update tomorrow before Adam and I take off for the Pearl Jam concert.
Cheers.
edited 10:52 p.m. Well, never-fucking-mind my passionate reunion with Illustrator. The trial version is missing the same shit that all the others were. Something is so very wrong with my computer, and I am NOT pleased. Grr.
