do lemons dream of electric Buffybots?
You know... I wrote an entry earlier, but because I'm an absolute moron I miss-clicked and closed the window. Feh. So here I am, a few hours later, sitting down to try again.
Today, I got up at 6:30, showered, went to breakfast with Adam, and then met up with this girl from my digicom class, Amy, to go to our orientation thing. It was really fun, actually. The teachers (there are two) are cool, the computers in the lab rock (flat screens!), and there was lots of discussion which, for once, I at least semi-participated in. I'm looking forward to starting classes tomorrw - Intro to Anthropology, Intro to Digital Communications, and Elementary French, in that order. I'm going to breakfast with Adam, since we both have 8 o' clock classes, and then I think we're going to try and go to the gym afterward. I've got about 3 hours between Anthro and Digicom, and a big fat 7 1/2 hours between Digicom and French, so making time for it won't be a problem at all. And I really need to start going on a regular basis, since it's right across the way, if you will, and free. Actually, I'm sure a little chunk of my $27,000 tuition is set aside for use of the sports center/gym, so it's really not free. But you know what I mean.
My roommate has been gone for hours. Seriously, hours. Like all day. I don't mind, of course. I rather enjoy having the room all to myself. It's nice. Yay to having a roommate who goes out all the time. An even bigger yay to having a roommate who stays out all the time.
At some point in the near future, I have to go home. I need posters (the four or five that I brought are looking lonely and sad on the very bare walls), my marroon hoodie (it's like a security sweatshirt), and my guitar (because Adam's going to try to teach me some things). I'll probably do that this weekend, when I actually have something to report about the educational aspects of the college experience, as opposed to just the living in a cinderblock room with a stranger and going through stupid freshman activities aspects. Because, you know, that's not really very exciting. And it sort of sucks.
Hmm. Okay, I need to get up at 6:30 again, so I'm going to stop this. Oh! I got to watch TWO episodes of Buffy tonight. How nice is that? Very, I say. Adam watched them with me, too, and he said that he actually likes it a lot. *cue delighted squealing* Woo! Maybe I can bribe him into being my Buffy buddy. I need a partner in Weird Obsession Land. The other night I actually dreamt and episode of Buffy. No jokes, people. I don't think it was a real episode, but that's just worse... I made up an episode of Buffy. In my sleep. Heh. He he he.
'Night.
