waiting for winter
listening to... Poe,
Amazed. Just that one song, repeatedly, because I thoroughly enjoy it.
reading... X20, by Richard Beard.
feeling... achey.
I woke up this morning with the worst headache; that was three hours ago, and I still have it. Foul. I decided that I wasn't going to start work today, because I feel like hell and I just generally don't want to. I was going to call them and say that I was scheduled to go visit Temple today, and that I couldn't start until tomorrow. I figured that would be fine. I'm not going to visit Temple, of course, but I really was supposed to. I just don't feel up to traipsing around Philly right now. Anyway, I was supposed to be there at 10:00 a.m., so I started calling at 9:00. No one answered. They don't open 'til 10:00, so I guess that makes sense. But I called six or seven times between 10:00 and 10:30, and there was still no answer. Whatever. No one can accuse me of not trying.
Blah. Now I have nothing to do, though, which I really should be used to. I have to get a shirt for work tomorrow, and I should pick up some things to start working on christmas presents, but all of this requires money. I don't have too much of that, which is precisely why I have to keep this job despite the fact that I already hate it. How sad is that? I have a huge thing against the place, and I haven't even worked one day yet. Perhaps I'm being too judgemental. I mean, I suppose there's an very small, infinitesimal chance that I'll like working there. *laughs* Probably about the same chance I have of going to the bank and finding a few million dollars in there that I forgot about. Not going to happen.
It was 66 degrees out yesterday. On the first of December. Does anyone else find that even remotely disturbing? It's just not correct. December is supposed to be cold and windy and snowy. You know, winter. Sweater weather, not t-shirt weather. I love sweaters, dammit, let me wear them! My parents already have the christmas tree set up. It's all decorated and sparkly and festive, but then you look out the window and sort of wonder where exactly winter has gone to. It looks like September out there. I don't like it. I want some snow.
I saw Shrek last night with Adam. We rented it. It's actually really good. What I'd seen on commercials and previews and such never appealed to me, but Amanda insisted that we see it, so we did. I was pleasantly surprised. I especially liked the karaoke party at the end. *laughs* "Do you really want to huuuurt me?"
I just saw a picture of Shakira, and she looked strangely like Sheryl Crow. I do not enjoy that. It freaks me out.
It's fun link time! Go here to find your Magic Fairy Name. *laughs* Mine is Gossamer Catfly.
