nothing says lovin' like new balls of yarn
Long time, no write... right? Yeah. I've been either very busy or very bored, I'm not sure which. Sort of both. I've spent all of my spare time knitting Joe's birthday present, and since all of my time is spare that's pretty much been my life for the last few days. Also, I've been at Adam's. He was dog-sitting Sam while his dad was away, so we did the sleepover thing. It was a good time, and now I think he's going to stay over here tonight and tomorrow. Be still my heart - I have no idea how
that came about. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy about it... it's just that Adam doesn't often stay at my house. And when I say that he "doesn't often stay at my house," I mean that he "never, ever, not even for all the money in the world and a pet monkey stays at my house." Hence my surprise.
Dammit, I keep getting booted off of AOL. Because AOL is a stinky bastard that needs to die and burn in the part of hell that has blue flames. Three times in 10 minutes! That's insanity.
I, unfortunately, have been contracted to take my grandmother to the grocery store this afternoon. I hate doing that, because she takes FOREVER. I think it's an old person thing. I would also prefer to just lie down and sleep for a few hours, but since I have to pick her up at noonish that isn't going to happen. Grr, argh. Until then, I need to shower and knit some more. Only two (possibly three) more pouches to go, and then I can start in on something more interesting. I'm making him a set of pouches for his tarot cards, you see, and they're composed of seed stitch and one left-crossing cable. They look very nice, but seed stitch is a pain in my ass when used in large quantities. I went to two nearby yarn shops on Wednesday, and oh dear... I need a job ASAP just so that I can buy things. I bought a ball of Plymouth Encore in "tropical apricot" for the last of Joe's tarot bags at Knitter's Dream, and then I got two gorgeous balls of Katia Ingenua for myself at The Colonial Yarn Shop. I think I prefer the latter, but both are chock full o' goodness. The Ingenua is a beautiful, soft mohair... mmm. And in bright colors, no less! I love me some lively, fruit-like colors. I'm going to get some more as soon as I can scrounge up the cash.
Well... no more to say, really. I'm off to watch some more of the second season of Buffy and knit away on the orange tarot bag. I'll update later with fun things, if I can.
Ciao.
